Mixing

I'm a mixing engineer based currently in Brooklyn, NY. I mainly work within the genres of Jazz and Singer-songwriters, but also have experience in Rock, Folk, and other acoustic driven genres, although not a stranger to electronics (see Vignette I & II by Sean Hannon)

My aim is to deliver what I call "Hyper-realism" mixes and guitar tracks, where they're heavily rooted in nature and acoustic elements and are enhanced with modern technologies.

As a musician myself, I have the experience playing with live bands, composing music, a wealth of knowledge in music theory, and more. When working with me, you’ll get the unique experience of working with a fellow regularly gigging musician and a mutual respect of creativity. When mixing, I cater more to the arrangement and flow of the song, in addition to the emotion reactions more than the technical details.

Here’s a sample of my mixing portfolio.

Remote Recording

One of the biggest benefits to being a 21st century musician (in my opinion) is the accessibility and ease of access to a home studio. I’ve built a humble collection of guitars, amps, microphones, drums, pedals, and other equipment that allow me to get high quality recordings literally a few steps away from where I sleep. For some samples, check the “Music” section of this site.

I use Logic Pro X, Pro Tools, and Ableton. I can send you high quality WAV files with sample rates up to 192k. For more information on my gear, shoot me a message and I can give you a run-down of some of the equipment I have!

Production

I’m 1/2 of a production company called Terranaut Recordings. This was a collaboration started by my friend Sean and I, fueled by our frustration at the music industry and how often artist get taken advantage of, and the desire to make as much music possible.

Our goal is to help songwriters fully realize their music by taking something like a demo and producing it into a fully fleshed out song. We provide the tracking/instrumentation, arrangement ideas, production, mixing and mastering, and provide you with a “streaming/radio/CD ready” song. As a duo that has spent years studying and playing music together, we can provide a myriad of sounds from the acoustic realm (guitars, upright/electric bass, drums, etc) into the electronic realm (synths, drum machines, digital processing, etc). We also handle the mixing and mastering ourselves.

Here’s a sample of what we’ve done. On these recordings, I collaborated with Sean on the production, played and recorded the guitars/drums/percussion parts, and handled the mixing.
